Your title is your promise, your content is your word
Your title is your promise, your content is your word

When you create your blog post you might begin with the title in mind.

Or, it might be something you tack on afterwards.

Whatever method you choose creating a title is like making a promise.

As titles are used by search engines to drive people to your site this is what people use to decide whether to engage with you or not.

Keep your promise

The content which your produce is your word; or the fulfilment of your promise.

If you use engaging and compelling titles you’ll get a lot of people coming to your site.

However, if you can’t follow through and offer even more engaging and compelling content, people are going to click away quickly.

This means you could be losing valuable customers, a lot of them.

How does it work?

For example, in this article: Why do funny images work like slapstick comedy?

We looked at adding a touch of humor and enjoyment to people’s day by using funny cartoons.

The article goes on to say:

“The most popular images and videos on social media are funny.

Many of us live very stressful lives and humor offers a much needed relief from the day to day stresses.”

If you are going to promise something in your title, make sure you give the answer in your content.

If you don’t your bounce rate will look like a kangaroo race!
