What does the color grey say about your website?
What does the color grey say?

In this series of posts we are going to look at how color affects the way people perceive your website.

There is a wide body of research done that tells us about the effects of colors.

The colors you use tell potential customers important things about your company.

They should be a reflection on your brand and marketing goals.

Today we are going to look at grey.

Grey is a mix of white and black – the opposites of the color spectrum.

It has always been associated with gloom and suspicion.

Those of you living in the northern hemisphere may become more depressed with the weather becomes cloudy and dull. (We in the south get a lot more sunshine.)

While grey does represent an absence of colour and we tend to be stilled and depressed by it, there is no need to forget it entirely.

You can use grey as a soft background that will make the other colors on your blog stand out more.

Colors such as red or blue set on a grey background help increase levels of attention.

They will help increase a client’s ability to retain information too.

In previous posts we looked at the colors red, yellow, violet and brown.
