How long should your video be?
Short attention spans are effecting the way we watch videos online.
While more and more companies are utilizing the power of videos to promote their goods and reach potential customers, web users are not prepared to spend a lot of time watching them.
How long is too long?
According to Hyperfine Media, 5% of viewers stopped watching a video after 1 minute.
That doesn’t sound too bad.
It tells us that we need to put a call to action or logo in the first 10 or 20 seconds to make sure all viewers know what the video is about.
However, an amazing 60% of web users stopped watching a video after 2 minutes.
This is certainly a statistic worth taking note of.
Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that many people are watching videos on their phones.
Whatever the reason, it is essential to get your message and your Call to Action across quickly.
This can be done very well, and doesn’t mean you end up with a cheap or shoddy looking video.
While, 4 out of 5 users will click away if the video takes too long to load according to Google.
This is another reason to keep your videos short.
How much time are people spending watching videos?
Many people are watching videos on mobile phones, and 92% of them share the videos with their friends and family.
Surprisingly, the average person spends only 16 minutes watching video ads online each month.
While this same person is exposed to 32.3 videos each month.
There is no doubt that videos are a great way to reach potential customers and engage with existing ones.
Creating videos so that you get maximum ROI takes skill and knowledge that’s for sure.
