How to use Paint to crop images
Check those pixels

There is a quick and easy way to check the size of your image and, if necessary change it.

It is inexpensive and easy to use, too.

If you have a PC you’ll already have ‘Paint’ in your program / app files.

When you open Paint you’ll see this screen:

Next go to ‘Open’ and search your computer for the image you want to check.

You’ll be able to see the dimensions of your image are.

You can then adjust them to whatever numbers you like.

Remember that if the image is low resolution and you increase the pixilation too much it will appear grainy or blurry.

If the image is very large, however, you can reduce the pixels quite easily without compromising the quality of the image.

Take care to keep the ‘Maintain Aspect Ratio’ option selected.

This will keep the image in its proper shape.

Once you have finished click ‘save’ or if you want to keep the original click ‘save as’ and give it another file name.

If you are purchasing images for your blog you may want to use this free program to check the images are the right size before adding them to your media library.

You can make changes after the image is uploaded, but by using Paint you’ll have greater control.
