While print books are in decline, eBooks are certainly not.
Whether you have a retail store, a trade business or you are an artist, writing a review about a book is a great way to educate your followers.
The book might be fiction or non-fiction.
It could tell a story that inspired you to follow your passions.
It might not have much to do with your business, but it has had an impact on your life and why you created your business.
When writing a book review blog post keep the following 5 tips in mind.
1. Always use the cover image
Use the cover image so your readers can identify the book quickly.
Popular book covers are the branding of the book itself and often the author.
2. Don’t tell the story
If your followers wanted to know the story, they’ll buy the book.
Instead, talk about incidents or plot twists that are exciting and powerful.
3. Discuss the book’s characters
Even non-fiction books have characters or case studies.
Use these to explain why you liked or hated the book.
4. Use a spoiler’s alert
If you have to give away the ending, make it clear that you are going to do so by issuing a spoiler’s alert.
5. Note which edition you read
Authors and publishers sometimes change information.
Make sure your readers know which edition you are reviewing.
That way, if they purchase the book themselves they will know what to expect.
